Fwd:FW:A must read

Any estimate of the number of forwards created/forwarded/read everyday. Dont let your manager read this, otherwise mails containing "FW" in the subject list would be next thing to be blocked on your office mail server.

Who creates these forwards? Are these the people who are on bench in the people-CMM certified software companies? I thought all these forwards are old ones which keep on rotating for years. Some obviously are like the "cancer forward mail from Siemens,Delhi". There are always new freshers with golden heart who take these mails seriously and forward them to others. But there are new forwards being generated everyday. Looks like there is a whole community dedicated to creating and sending forwards. The new forwards are triggered by events like world cup(remember the goal/Zidane forwards) or movie releases(special cases are Balkrishna movie release in AP/Hyd).

And who sends these forwards? Some forward even without reading the content just to make their friends feel they are remembered. This lets some girls enjoy the "boy only things",only those are fortunate enough to be on the mailing list of boys. Some others(like me) are dead ends, no forwards go beyond them. Some have special mail-lists with the names of privileged people who will get the forwards. A few take the job of forwarding mails to each as a must do duty, and thanks to these people, we get breaks to read jokes/funny quotes in between our office work.

Try creating a new forward if you have time to see how far it goes, if it is a loud sardarji joke it will go hit and if it is a serious issue bigger chances are there for it to die. We all need a forward to our credit, i have mine which died soon as it revolved around using right to information act.
