Where have all the old movies gone?

When was the last time you saw a good old Hindi movie on TV and on which TV channel.

I don't remember any, all I get to see is re-telecasts of recent year block-busters and of course some BigB movies on Zee Cinema. But where are the classic movies which were way ahead of their times. Looks like Sony has done some research showing viewers are not interested in old love or revenge stories any more and as most of the target audience is in metros,it makes sense to broadcast Kal Ho Na Ho three times a month.

But if the multiplex created a niche audience of movies which made movies like Page 3 a hit, we can have a movie channel devoted to classic movies of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Guru Dutt. Market Segmentation has already started in Indian TV with Sony relaunching SAB as a channel for the small town people. Star One is the new face of metros with shows like Bluff Master/Nach Baliye and Darna Mana Hain. Now the wait is for a Hindi Movie Channel which shows 36 Chowringhee Lane if not twice at least once a month.
